Abstract
The purpose of this article is to find out the effectiveness of Indonesia-Malaysia in overcoming pirates in the Malacca Strait. Cooperation between the two countries began in 1972 with the name Malindo (Malaysia and Indonesia). The focus of this article is piracy that occurred from 2013 to 2020. The methods used is descriptive research using a qualitative approach, and the data collection method is library research. This article used transnational organized crime and international regime approach. The results found were that Malindo's collaboration included joint patrols and joint training. The cooperation carried out by the two countries is still not very effective due to the increasing cases of piracy in the Malacca Strait. Based on transnational organized crime and an international regime approach, cooperation is carried out because the issues that exist are not just problems of one country and regional cooperation is needed to overcome them.
