Abstract
This research aims to find out and describe student’s mistakes in solving algebraic
questions based on Kastolan theory. This research is qualitative research with a
descriptive approach. This research was carried out at State Junior High School 2
Singosari in October 2023. Data collection techniques were carried out using
written test and interviews. The written test was given to class VII H students,
totaling 32 students. Then 3 students were taken as subject to conduct interviews.
The resulting data will be identified through data reduction, data representation and
drawing conclusion. The result of the research show that conceptual errors have a
percentage of 59,16% in the very high category , procedural errors in the very high category have a percentage of 70,00% and technical errors are 37,50% in the quite
high category.
