This research discusses the problem of the meaning of the Grebeg Suro Majapahit tradition for the people of Trowulan Mojokerto. This study is a qualitative ethnographic research, with the sampling method using purposive sampling. Research data was collected through interviews and field observations and then carried out in-depth analysis. The theory used as a theoretical basis was George Herbert Mead's theory of symbolic interaction. The results of the data findings show that there are three values and meanings for the Trowulan community: 1. The value of beauty. 2. Moral values. 3. Religious values. This tradition can be interpreted as a form of symbolic communication that connects people to their values, norms and collective identity. Several meanings that can be taken from this tradition include gratitude, requests for protection, maintenance of cultural heritage, and appreciation of religious values.
