Abstract

Abstract
The war between Russia and Ukraine that occurred since February is still one of the world's biggest conflicts in
the past decade. To resolve this conflict, Indonesia as the G20 presidency in 2022 also takes part in positioning
itself in the conflict as Indonesia’s foreign policy. The of this foreign policy is to minimize the impact of conflict
properly so that the impacts of the conflict felt by the disputants and other countries will also end. This research
describes how Indonesian’s position as G20 presidency toward the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This is
descriptive research analyzed by qualitative method. The process analyzing is collecting valid library data sources,
then the authors correlate main finding to the conceptual framework as an analytical tool in this research. That
concept is adaptive model of foreign policy. The result of this study shows Indonesia's position in the Russia-
Ukraine conflict is based on preservative adaptation pattern, which is influenced by external and internal
conditions. The external conditions that influence Indonesia's position are the Russia-Ukraine conflict and
Indonesia's status as the G20 presidency, while the internal conditions are the impact caused by this conflict in
Indonesia, such as the increase in fuel prices and the increase in the price of wheat flour and other processed wheat.
