PENGARUH KOMPETENSI TERHADAP KESIAPAN KERJA SISWA DENGAN SELF EFFICACY SEBAGAI VARIABEL MEDIASI STUDI PADA SISWA KELAS XII SMK MUHAMMADIYAH 7 GONDANGLEGI

This study aims to analyze the effect of competence on the work readiness of students at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi with self-efficacy as a mediating variable. This research is a survey study using a quantitative approach. The population in this study consisted of all twelfth-grade students of the 2023 cohort at SMK Muhammadiyah 7 Gondanglegi, totaling 700 students. The sampling technique used the Slovin formula with an error rate of 7.5%, resulting in a sample of 142 respondents. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using scale range analysis and Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS 4 software version 4.1.1.4. The results of the SEM-PLS analysis indicate that competence has a positive and significant effect on work readiness, competence has a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy, and self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on work readiness. In addition, self-efficacy is proven to mediate the effect of competence on work readiness positively and significantly. These findings indicate that the higher the competence possessed by students, the higher their self-efficacy and work readiness in facing the demands of the workplace.
