Abstract
This study analyzes how Metro TV, through its Meet Nite Live program on the Metro TV YouTube channel, frames the portrayal of the band Perunggu as the "Band Pulang Ngantor," particularly in the episode uploaded on August 4, 2025. The study is motivated by the role of the media in shaping public perception, emphasizing that the media not only report facts but also construct social reality through the selection of issues, language, visuals, and narratives. This research employs a qualitative method using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model. The model examines how an issue is framed through four analytical elements: Define Problems, Diagnose Causes, Make Moral Judgments, and Treatment Recommendations. The analysis focuses on the Meet Nite Live talk show episode uploaded to the Metro TV YouTube channel entitled "Perunggu, Berawal dari Pulang Ngantor Jadi Grup Band Favorit Masa Kini".
The findings reveal that Meet Nite Live frames Perunggu as an Indonesian music phenomenon that emerged from the everyday experiences of office workers, giving rise to the label "Band Pulang Ngantor" The program portrays work routines, job-related exhaustion, and the need for self-actualization as the primary factors behind the creation of Perunggu’s musical works. Furthermore, the program presents a positive moral evaluation by portraying Perunggu as an authentic, consistent, and hardworking band. It also conveys the recommendation that limited time and full-time employment should not be regarded as obstacles to creativity but rather as sources of creative inspiration.
