PENANAMAN KARAKTER ISLAMI PESERTA DIDIK BERBASIS PROGRAM UNGGULAN DI MTS MUHAMMADIYAH 01 KOTA MALANG

The cultivation of Islamic character is an essential aspect of madrasah education in shaping students who possess noble morals, discipline, responsibility, and social awareness. MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang City has developed various flagship programs as an effort to achieve these objectives. This study aims to describe the flagship programs implemented at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang City in cultivating students' Islamic character, explain the implementation of these flagship programs, and analyze their implications for the development of students' Islamic character. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research was conducted at MTs Muhammadiyah 1 Malang City. Data were collected from the principal, teachers, and students through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model, which consists of data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The validity of the data was ensured through source, technique, and time triangulation. The findings revealed that the flagship programs include the Birrohim Program, Qur'an Memorization (Tahfidz Al-Qur'an), Qur'an Recitation Improvement (Tahsin Al-Qur'an), Congregational Duha Prayer, Islamic Short Sermons (Kultum), MABIT (Faith and Piety Development Overnight Program), and Subuh Warrior. These programs are designed to instill religious values, discipline, responsibility, leadership, self-confidence, and social awareness. The implementation of the programs is carried out through planning, implementation, and evaluation stages by emphasizing habituation, exemplary conduct, and continuous guidance throughout all madrasah activities. The flagship programs have demonstrated positive implications for fostering students' Islamic character.
