Abstract
Background: In cases of septic shock, the most common nursing problem is respiratory system disorders. High levels of lactic acid in the blood (serum lactate) after receiving adequate fluid replacement. Ways are needed to overcome ineffective breathing patterns, including oxygen therapy and semi-Fowler's position.
Objective: To analyze the combination of oxygen therapy and semi-Fowler's position in overcoming ineffective breathing patterns in septic shock patients.
Method: The research method used in the preparation of this KIAN is a case study report, which includes assessment to evaluation. The sample of this research is 1 injured patient respondent with purposive sampling technique. Collecting data using interviews, observation and physical examination.
Results: After being given nursing care for 5 hours, the authors raised the main diagnosis of ineffective breathing patterns b.d difficulty breathing. From this main diagnosis the problem was not resolved and the patient's condition worsened so he was placed in the ICU.
Conclusion: The problem of nursing ineffective breathing patterns related to difficulty breathing in sepsis patients arises due to high lactic acid. The actions that have been carried out by nurses are airway management and monitoring of respiration. Not enough with this, the recommendations needed for patients are oxygen therapy and semi-Fowler's position.
