Abstract

This study aims to deeply analyze and describe three main aspects: (1) The development strategy of the Adiwiyata Program at SMPN 3 Purwodadi Pasuruan in building an environmentally cultured and sustainable school, (2) The function of the Adiwiyata Program through daily habituation mechanisms in forming environmentally conscious character in students, and (3) The central role of the PPKn Teacher at SMPN 3 Purwodadi Pasuruan in fostering environmentally conscious character in the young generation based on Ecological Citizenship through the Adiwiyata School Program.
The type of research is descriptive qualitative research using a case study approach. The research location was purposively determined at SMPN 3 Purwodadi Pasuruan, with a research period of approximately 2 months, spanning from early November to the end of December. Data collection techniques utilize triangulation, including participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. Research subjects (informants) will be selected using purposive sampling, including the Headmaster, Adiwiyata Coordinator Teacher, PPKn Teacher, Students, Educational Staff, and School Committee/Parent Representatives.
The results of this study are expected to provide a comprehensive overview of the Adiwiyata development strategy, delineate the connection between program routines and changes in student behavior, and identify the role of the PPKn Teacher in transforming ordinary environmental concern into an ecological citizenship awareness that is responsible for the sustainability of the environmental ecosystem.
