Abstract
Background: Cyberbullying is a form of digital violence that is increasingly experienced by adolescents. The high use of social media makes adolescents more vulnerable to online bullying. Cyberbullying can negatively impact adolescents' mental health, such as stress, anxiety, depression, and even suicidal ideation. Therefore, it is important to understand the relationship between cyberbullying and suicidal ideation in adolescents.
Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between cyberbullying and suicidal ideation in high school adolescents.
Research Method: This study used a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach. The population was 90 students. The sampling method used total sampling. The sample size was 74 high school students. The independent variable was cyberbullying and the dependent variable was suicidal ideation. Data collection was conducted using the 20-question BCBQ-SF cyberbullying questionnaire and the 21-question BSS suicidal ideation questionnaire. Data analysis used the Spearman correlation test with SPSS 25.
Research Results: The results showed no significant relationship between cyberbullying and suicidal ideation in high school adolescents, with a p-value of 0.051 (p > 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of r
= 0.228, indicating a very weak relationship.
Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between cyberbullying and suicidal ideation among high school students
