Abstract

This monograph discusses the use of photography as an innovative learning medium in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Photography has significant potential to enhance learning effectiveness through visual presentations that clarify abstract Islamic concepts, increase learning motivation, and encourage active student involvement. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review and descriptive analysis of various relevant literature on photography, learning media, and Islamic education. The discussion covers the basic concepts of photography, its role and advantages as a learning medium, the photography skills required in PAI learning, and strategies for its implementation in the educational process. The study results indicate that integrating photography into PAI learning can help students understand Islamic values ​​more contextually, enhance creativity, critical thinking skills, and visual literacy. However, its implementation still faces various challenges, such as limited facilities, educator competency, and integration into the curriculum. Therefore, support is needed in the form of training, infrastructure development, and educational policies that support the use of photography as a learning medium. This monograph is expected to serve as a reference for educators, students, and researchers in developing PAI learning that is more engaging, effective, and relevant to developments in digital technology.
