Abstract

Background : Nursing students are vulnerable to academic stress due to the demands of lectures and clinical practice. This study aimed to determine the relationship between time management and stress levels among undergraduate nursing students at UMM. The study used a cross-sectional approach with 170 respondents. The results showed a significant negative relationship between time management and stress levels (p < 0.001; r = -0.267), indicating that better time management is associated with lower stress levels.
Objective : This study aims to determine the relationship between time management and stress levels in undergraduate nursing students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang.
Method : This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 170 respondents, selected from undergraduate nursing students. The instruments used were the Time Management Questionnaire (TMQ) and the Student Stress Inventory (SSI). Data analysis was performed using the Spearman test.
Result : The results showed that most respondents had moderate time management (72.9%), and the stress level was predominantly mild stress (56.5%). The Spearman test results obtained a p-value < 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of r = -0.267, indicating a significant negative relationship with weak strength between time management and stress levels.
Conclution : There is a significant negative relationship between time management and stress levels in undergraduate nursing students at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The better the time management, the lower the stress levels tend to be.
