Abstract
The purpose of this study, entitled "The Role of Teachers in Building Children's Self-Confidence (Case Study of 11th Grade Students of SMAN 3 Jombang)" is to determine the role of teachers in building children's self-confidence through learning strategies, communication, and emotional support at school. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects include 11th grade students and teachers. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that teachers play an important role in building students' self-confidence through participatory learning, habituating presentations and discussions, providing motivation and appreciation, and self-development through extracurricular activities. Students who receive support and opportunities to be active tend to have higher self-confidence, while students who are less involved tend to be passive in learning. Analysis using Talcott Parsons' Voluntaristic Theory shows that the formation of student self-confidence is the result of interactions between actors (teachers and students), learning objectives, tools such as learning methods and school activities, social conditions in the form of the school environment and communication, and instilled values and norms. Self-confidence is not formed instantly, but through a directed social process within the education system.
