Abstract
This study aims to understand students’ experiences in utilizing TikTok content to foster interest in learning Arabic at Muhammadiyah University of Malang. This study employs a qualitative approach using a phenomenological design, with students at Muhammadiyah University of Malang as the subjects. Data collection techniques were conducted through open-ended interviews and documentation, while data analysis utilized data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that TikTok is viewed as an engaging, flexible, and easily accessible learning medium, thereby enhancing interest in learning Arabic. This is evident from students’ active engagement, such as imitating pronunciation, noting down vocabulary, and practicing language skills independently. However, TikTok has limitations in presenting material that lacks depth, so formal learning remains the primary reference. Thus, TikTok can be utilized as an alternative learning medium that supports increased interest in learning Arabic.
