Abstract

Job satisfaction among employees varies with each characteristic of their job and their workplace. This research seeks to determine the effect of workload on employee job satisfaction, especially within the scope of industrial employees who work as machine operators. Apart from that, this research also aims to examine supportive work environment variables as moderators of the influence of workload on job satisfaction. The research method used was quantitative correlational with a total of 222 wood machine operators at factory X.. The sampling technique used was convenience sampling. Data samples were taken by distributing research instrument questionnaires to the subject. The research instruments consist of three measuring tools, namely the Multidimensional Job Satisfaction Scale, Quality of Work Life Scale (QWL), and Team Workload Measure. Data analysis in this research uses the Hayes analysis process. The research results show that workload has a significant positive effect on job satisfaction, and the influence of workload on job satisfaction does not depend on the presence or absence of the influence of a supportive work environment.
