Abstract
The development of engaging instructional materials that align with the characteristics of elementary school students is an essential effort to improve the quality of science and social studies (IPAS) learning, particularly on the topic of cultural diversity and local wisdom. Conceptual and broad content is often difficult for students to understand when delivered solely through lectures and standard textbooks. Based on this condition, this study aims to develop a Pop-Up Module that is valid, practical, and effective for use in fourth-grade IPAS learning at SDN Dadaprejo 01 Batu.
This study employed the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 15 fourth-grade students of SDN Dadaprejo 01 Batu. Data were collected through observation, interviews, documentation, expert validation questionnaires (material experts and instructional material experts), and teacher and student response questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to determine the feasibility and practicality of the developed module.
The results showed that the Pop-Up Module obtained a validation score of 93% from the material expert and 92% from the instructional material expert, both categorized as very good. During the implementation stage, student responses reached 95% and teacher responses reached 98%, both in the very good category. These findings indicate that the developed module is valid, practical, and effective for use in fourth-grade IPAS learning. Therefore, the Pop-Up Module is feasible to be used as an innovative instructional material. It is recommended that future research test the module with a larger number of participants and expand its development to other IPAS topics to broaden its applicability.
