Abstract
The aims of this study is to find out the students’ perception toward Quizizz applied on English subject. Quizizz is a game-based educational application that makes in-class lessons interesting and enjoyable while bringing multiplayer activities to the classroom. It refers to interactive multiplayer learning medium. Students can use Quizizz to complete in-class assignments on their mobile devices or other devices such as computer or laptop. This study is conducted since there is still a scarcity of research in Indonesia, particularly in Malang, East Java, which analyses the students' perception toward the Quizizz application. The qualitative method was used in this study to convey the findings of the research based on the data collected. The data from this research were collected using two instruments, which are open-ended online questionnaire and semi-structured interview. The questionnaire for this study was distributed to 18 students in a class of SMA Laboratorium UM. According to the findings of the research, the majority of students' perceptions of Quizizz applied in English subject were positive. The students believed in Quizizz was effective and fun to bring to English subject. This teaching media allows students to participate more in-class activities minimizes boredom by creating a learning environment, fun learning process and boosts learning motivation without interfering with the students' understanding of the subject being studied.
