Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of work-life balance and quality of work life on turnover intention among employees of Hotel Mercure Surabaya Grand Mirama. Employee turnover has become a major concern considering the importance of human resource stability in the hospitality industry. This research employs a quantitative method with an associative approach. The population consists of all 171 employees of Hotel Mercure Surabaya Grand Mirama. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, in which respondents are selected based on specific criteria relevant to the research objectives. These criteria include employee characteristics such as gender, age, tenure, and employment status. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error, resulting in 120 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that partially, work-life balance has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention. Likewise, quality of work life also has a negative and significant effect on turnover intention. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence employees’ turnover intention. Furthermore, quality of work life is identified as the most dominant variable affecting turnover intention. This indicates that improving the quality of the work environment and providing career development opportunities are key factors in reducing employee turnover.
