Abstract
Program Bina Diri is an important part of inclusive education that aims to provide basic skills to children with special needs so that they can live independently without always depending on others, as well as teaching them motor skills. This study aims to explain how the Self-Development Program is implemented as an inclusion program at SD Muhammadiyah 04 Kota Batu, covering the planning, implementation, and evaluation processes, as well as identifying the factors that support and hinder its implementation.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative research approach with a case study type of research. This research was conducted at SD Muhammadiyah 4 Kota Batu, focusing on students with special needs. In its implementation, data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was checked using two techniques, namely source triangulation and technique triangulation.
The results of the study show that: (1) The program was developed based on an initial assessment to determine the needs of students, so that an Individual Learning Program (PPI), materials, and teaching methods could be tailored to the abilities and characteristics of the students. (2) The program was implemented every Friday using classical methods and direct demonstrations covering self-care, self-management, self-help, communication skills, and social skills. (3) Assessment was carried out continuously by observing student progress every day, and the results were recorded in progress reports (inclusion reports). (4) Factors supporting the program are good teamwork within the GPK team and adequate school facilities, while factors hindering the program are students' unstable emotions (e.g., tantrums) and a lack of consistency from parents in providing stimulation at home
