ANALISIS PROSES PENYUNTINGAN NASKAH BUKU REFERENSI DI INTELEGENSIA MEDIA: STUDI KASUS TERHADAP KUALITAS BAHASA DAN GAYA PENULISAN

Research into the editing process for reference book manuscripts is crucial because the quality of
language and writing style in a book significantly determines the clarity of the information conveyed to
readers. Manuscripts that have not undergone a proper editing process are prone to errors in diction,
sentence structure, terminology consistency, and stylistic inaccuracies, which can diminish the quality of
scientific writing. In the publishing world, editing serves as a crucial stage for revising, organizing, and
ensuring that manuscripts adhere to correct linguistic rules and are easily understood by readers. The
purpose of this study is to describe the editing process for reference book manuscripts at Intelegensia
Media and to analyze the language and writing style improvements made by editors to manuscripts
before publication.
This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research was
conducted at the Intelegensia Media publishing house, which is part of Intrans Publishing. Data were
obtained through document analysis of edited reference book manuscripts and interviews with editors
involved in the editing process. Data collection techniques included documentation and interviews, while
data analysis involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to obtain a systematic
overview of the manuscript editing process.
The results of the study indicate that the manuscript editing process at Media Intelligence includes
language checking, improving diction, rearranging sentence structure, and adjusting the writing style to
make it more effective and communicative. The editor also corrects the use of non-standard words,
ineffective sentences, and inconsistent terms. This process has been proven to improve the readability
and clarity of the manuscript's content, making the message conveyed by the author more systematic and
easy to understand. Based on these research results, it can be concluded that the manuscript editing
process plays a very important role in improving the language quality and writing style of reference
books. Editing not only functions to correct language errors, but also helps refine the structure of the
presentation of ideas so that the manuscript becomes more communicative, systematic, and worthy of
publication
