Abstract
This research and development aims to develop a concrete learning medium, namely an interactive and effective green power box for learning. The low use of concrete learning media is the background of this research, especially in magnetism, electricity, and technology materials for the lives of science subjects who have theoretical learning tendencies. This has an impact on the low motivation of students to learn and understand the material. The basis of this research includes several aspects, namely learning media, concrete learning, alternative energy concepts found around, and interactive learning media. The characteristics of elementary school students who are still in the concrete operational stage demand the availability of innovative, interactive, and of course concrete learning media so that abstract concepts can be understood optimally.
The research method used in this study is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research was carried out at SDN Ngaglik 01 Batu with the research subject of grade V students with a total of 20 children. Data collection techniques were carried out through observations, interviews, material validation questionnaires and media experts, teacher response questionnaires, and student response questionnaires.
The results of the study showed that green power box media obtained a high level of validation from material experts of 90% and 86% of media experts who were categorized as very suitable for use. At the implementation stage, the student response questionnaire scored 82.5% while the teacher response questionnaire scored 90%, both of which were categorized as very interesting. With the results of this percentage, it shows that the green power box media that has been developed is very interesting, suitable for use, effective in helping understanding the concept of alternative energy, and can increase students' motivation to learn. Thus, green power box learning media on magnetic, electrical, and technology materials for life is feasible and interesting to be used as interactive learning media in science V learning classes that can increase students' motivation to learn and increase their understanding of alternative energy concepts.
