Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) is one of the integrative subjects in the Merdeka Curriculum designed to understand the connection between natural phenomena and the surrounding social life. IPAS learning is not limited to achieving theoretical understanding of science alone but also aims to develop critical thinking skills, curiosity, and ecological awareness in facing various real-world problems in the environment. This research aims to develop concrete learning media in the form of a Lift The Flap Book on Animal Metamorphosis material for the IPAS subject in Grade IV at elementary schools. The background of this research is the minimal use of concrete media in learning animal metamorphosis material, which makes students less interested in the learning process of the animal metamorphosis concept. Therefore, concrete learning media is needed for students to improve understanding and engagement.
This research uses the Research and Development (RnD) research method. In this method, there are 5 stages called ADDIE, which consist of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. This research was conducted with fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Kepanjen using the science subject (IPAS) on the topic of animal metamorphosis. The researcher used products for both quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. Qualitative data analysis was obtained from observation and interview results, while quantitative data was obtained from teacher response questionnaires and fourth-grade student response questionnaires. The data obtained was used to test the validity and attractiveness of the Lift The Flap Book media in IPAS learning on the topic of animal metamorphosis at SD Negeri 4 Kepanjen.
The research results show that the Lift The Flap Book learning media developed is feasible for use. Assessment by material experts obtained a percentage of 95%, and assessment by media experts of 82% stated that the media is suitable for use in the field without revision. The score from students through a questionnaire showed a percentage of 100%, which means this media is very helpful in understanding the learning material on animal metamorphosis. These results indicate that the Lift The Flap Book learning media on animal metamorphosis for fourth-grade elementary school students is good and feasible to be used in elementary schools
