Abstract
Based on the analysis of second-grade students at Tamban 3 Public Elementary School, it was found that mathematics learning in place value still faces problems of low conceptual understanding, caused by conventional learning methods, limited teaching materials, and minimal use of concrete learning media. This condition shows the urgency of developing teaching materials that help students understand the concept of place value. This study aims to develop mathematics worksheets assisted by unit blocks on place value interesting to use in learning.
The development method uses research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 17 second-grade students at Tamban 3 Public Elementary School in the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The research instruments included a media expert validation questionnaire, a material expert validation questionnaire, and a student response questionnaire. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques.
The results of the study indicate that unit block-assisted mathematics worksheets are very suitable for use in learning. The results of the study show that these mathematics worksheets can be used by media and material experts based on the results of media validation of 88%, material validation of 94%, and user response to the worksheets of 90%. The development of these unit block-assisted mathematics worksheets helps students understand place value from concrete objects to abstract numbers. The mathematics worksheets facilitate understanding of place value, where students are able to concretize the abstract concepts of units, tens, and hundreds through physical manipulation of blocks.
