Abstract
The stress often experienced by students is academic stress, including boarding school students. Factors causing this stress include high academic demands, poor exam results, accumulating memorization targets, and their social environment. The higher the social support an individual receives, the lower the academic stress among students. With increased social support for students, their level of resilience also rises. Higher resilience among students leads to lower academic stress. Therefore, higher levels of social support and resilience among students correspond to lower academic stress. The aim of this research is to examine the role of resilience as a mediating variable in the influence of social support on academic stress. The subjects were junior and senior high school students in Islamic boarding schools, totaling 306 respondents. This study used a quantitative approach and purposive sampling technique. Measurement was conducted using the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), Educational Stress Scale for Adolescents (ESSA), and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). The results of this research analysis indicate that resilience partially mediates the influence of social support on academic stress among boarding school students.
