Abstract

Globalization creates unlimited information exchange that can impact students' attitudes and actions, so it is important to improve character education so that students can identify values that are in accordance with national identity. This study aims to analyze the formation of Discipline and Responsible character in fourth grade students through Pancasila and Citizenship Education (PPKn) learning at SDN 02 Cepokomulyo. The background of this study is based on the discovery of student behavior that does not reflect the values of Pancasila character, such as lack of discipline, responsibility, and tolerance in learning activities.
This research used a qualitative approach with a case study approach. The subjects included fourth-grade teachers and fourth-grade students at SDN 02 Cepokomulyo. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing techniques. Data validity was tested using triangulation.
The results of the study indicate that PPKn learning plays a role in shaping students' Pancasila character through habituation activities, teacher role models, group discussions, and reflective activities. However, the process of character formation still faces several obstacles, such as differences in student character, limited learning resources, and the influence of the family environment. Therefore, it can be concluded that PPKn learning has an influence on the formation of students' Pancasila character, but it needs to be supported by more varied learning strategies and synergy between schools, teachers, and parents for more optimal results
