Abstract

The development of the Calculation Funnel media was motivated by problems encountered by fourth-grade students at SDN Gunugsari 04 Kota Batu. During learning activities in the classroom, students often used lecture methods and textbooks, and they lacked interest in learning mathematics, causing them to feel bored and tired. This ultimately affected the students' understanding of multiplication and division of whole numbers in mathematics, resulting in their average scores falling below the minimum passing grade. Based on this, this study aims to develop an effective and appropriate Counting Funnel media for teaching multiplication and division of whole numbers in mathematics for fourth-grade students at SDN Gunugsari 04 Kota Batu.
This study is a Research and Development (R&D) study using the ADDIE research model, which consists of five stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The subjects of this study were 15 fourth-grade students. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, material validation questionnaires, media validation questionnaires, teacher and student responses, and documentation. The data obtained will be analyzed using qualitative and quantitative data.
The results show that the Corong Berhitung media is suitable for use in learning. This can be proven by the results of material expert validation, which obtained a percentage of 75% categorized as “suitable,” and media validation results of 82.5% categorized as “very suitable.” The student response results obtained an average percentage of 94.6%, categorized as “Very suitable,” and the teacher response results obtained a percentage of 85%, categorized as “Very suitable.” Meanwhile, the evaluation test results obtained an average score of 86% and were categorized as “Very feasible”. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Calculating Funnel media is interesting and feasible to be used as a learning media in Mathematics lessons.
