Abstract

This study aims to analyze financing source decisions of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises
(MSMEs) in Dampit District, Malang Regency. This research employs a descriptive quantitative method
with a case study approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 185
MSME owners selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical
analysis through tabulation and percentage calculations. The results indicate that MSMEs utilize
various financing sources, including internal capital, loans from family or relatives, loans from friends,
and loans from banks and non-bank institutions. Internal capital and family loans remain the dominant
financing sources. Major barriers include limited collateral, complex administrative requirements, and
low financial literacy. MSME owners expect financing decisions to improve sales performance,
profitability, and business sustainability. These findings highlight the importance of strengthening
financial literacy and improving inclusive financing policies to support MSME development.
