ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN UMUR PARENT STOCK LAYER TERHADAP FERTILITAS DAN MORTALITAS EMBRIO PADA PROSES PENETASAN

Differences in parent stock age may influence the fertility and embryonic mortality of hatching eggs. This study aimed to analyze the effect of breeder age (30 and 50 weeks) of layer parent stock on fertility and embryonic mortality during the incubation process. The materials used in this study consisted of 9,600 hatching eggs derived from 30- and 50-week-old layer parent stock. The research employed an observational method with direct data collection throughout the incubation period. The observed variables included fertility and embryonic mortality, which were determined through candling to assess embryo development and embryonic death. The collected data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test to evaluate differences between the two breeder age groups. The results demonstrated that hatching eggs obtained from 30-week-old layer parent stock had significantly higher fertility (p < 0.05), with an average percentage of 91.43%, and significantly lower embryonic mortality (p < 0.05), with an average percentage of 0.85%, compared to eggs from 50-week-old parent stock. The independent samples t-test confirmed a statistically significant difference between the two groups. In conclusion, the age of layer parent stock significantly affects the fertility and embryonic mortality of hatching eggs.
