Abstract

This research is driven by the low level of active student engagement in mathematics learning at SDN 1 Mulyoagung, where the teaching-learning process remains conventional and heavily dependent on limited government textbooks. Such conditions lead to passive learning, making it difficult for students to independently construct conceptual understandings, particularly regarding whole number materials. The primary objective of this study is to develop a Problem-Based Learning (PBL) based Student Worksheet (LKPD) that is valid and practical for fourth-grade elementary school students.
The research method employed is Research and Development (R&D) using a modified Borg and Gall development model consisting of seven main stages: potential and problems, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, product testing, and final revision. Data collection instruments included observations, interviews, and validation questionnaires from experts and students.
The results indicated that the PBL-based LKPD was declared "Valid" by material experts with a percentage of 73.75% and "Very Valid" by media experts with a percentage of 83.33%. Furthermore, during the field testing phase involving 21 fourth-grade students, the product achieved a practicality score of 82.38%, categorized as "Very Practical." Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the PBL-based LKPD on whole number materials is feasible and effective as a supporting teaching material to enhance students' activity and learning independence in elementary school
