Abstract

This study explores Azerbaijan’s military strategy in deploying drones during the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War in 2020. The conflict marked a significant milestone in the evolution of modern warfare, where unmanned technologies such as drones were strategically utilized to gain military superiority. Azerbaijan employed drones for reconnaissance and precision strikes, effectively neutralizing Armenia’s defense systems while minimizing troop exposure. This approach signifies a paradigm shift from conventional warfare to technology-based and asymmetric combat. Using the theoretical frameworks of the Revolution in Military Affairs (RMA) and Asymmetric Warfare, this research reveals how Azerbaijan combined technology, intelligence, and strategy to secure victory with high efficiency. The study adopts a qualitative descriptive method through literature review of documents, journals, and relevant articles.
