Abstract

Background: Hypertension was a major health problem that required a family-based approach. The role of the family was crucial in the management of this disease, as family support helped patients maintain a healthy lifestyle and adhere to treatment. Family knowledge about hypertension was a key factor in providing effective support. Studies showed that educational interventions involving families significantly improved patient health outcomes. Purpose: To explore family experiences in caring for family members with hypertensive disease. Methods: The research method used was a qualitative method with a case study on 3 subjects, namely Mrs. K (P1), Mrs. L (P2), and Ms. D (P3). This study was validated through source triangulation using semi-structured face-to-face interviews. The data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation. Results: The analysis of data obtained from interviews, which was validated by participants, formulated 3 themes: 1) Family Knowledge, 2) Family Strategy, and 3) Physical Activity. Conclusion: Family support played an important role in the success of hypertension treatment. By providing emotional support, education, and practical assistance, families helped patients adhere to medication, maintain a healthy lifestyle, and improve health outcomes. Conversely, lack of support hindered successful treatment."
