Abstract

This research discusses the use of technology in supporting public services in Sumberbrantas Village, Bumiaji District, Batu City, East Java. Sumberbrantas Village was established in 2005 with the majority of the population working as farmers. However, the low level of education and digital literacy of the community is a major challenge in the implementation of technology for public services. The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of technology use in improving public services and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the digital transformation process in the village.
This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects involved village officials and the local community to explore data in depth. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to comprehensively understand how technology is utilized in public services in Sumberbrantas Village.
The results showed that Sumberbrantas Village has adopted several technology platforms such as the village website, WhatsApp group, and Village Information System (SID) to facilitate public services. However, the utilization of these technologies has not been optimal due to the digital divide, limited infrastructure, and lack of training for the community. Supporting factors such as village government support and the enthusiasm of village officials play an important role in the digital transformation process. By overcoming the existing obstacles, Sumberbrantas Village has great potential to improve the quality and effectiveness of public services through the use of technology.
