Abstract
Pendidikan Sabtu Ahad (PETUAH) is a program implemented at SD Negeri Tulungrejo 01 since 2014 with the aim of fostering the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children among sixth-grade students. Through the pendidikan sabtu ahad program, these seven habits can be developed, along with the cultivation of independent character, discipline, and religious values within the students. The objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the implementation of the pendidikan sabtu ahad (PETUAH) program in fostering the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children among sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Tulungrejo 01, and (2) to describe the obstacles encountered and the solutions implemented in the execution of the pendidikan sabtu ahad (PETUAH) program for sixth-grade students at SD Negeri Tulungrejo 01.
This study employed a qualitative descriptive research method. The data sources included the school principal, sixth-grade homeroom teacher, sixth-grade students, and parents of sixth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques consisted of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results of the study indicate that: (1) the implementation of the pendidikan sabtu ahad (PETUAH) program has been successful in fostering the habituation of the 7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children among sixth-grade students, as evidenced by the students’ daily habits at home. The implementation of the PETUAH program, including the planning, execution, and assessment stages at SD Negeri Tulungrejo 01, has been carried out effectively. (2) The obstacles encountered in the implementation of the PETUAH program include communication barriers between the school and the parents of sixth-grade students, resulting in the provision of food supplies that do not fully meet the nutritional needs of the students. Consequently, some students feel tired and easily sleepy during the pendidikan sabtu ahad activities. (3) The solutions implemented by the school to address these challenges include conducting evaluations after the PETUAH activities, engaging parents of sixth-grade students in discussions regarding the obstacles encountered, and carrying out joint reflections with the sixth-grade homeroom teacher. The supervising teacher also reports the evaluation results to the school principal after the implementation of the PETUAH program, while maintaining good collaboration with the parents of sixth-grade students.
