Abstract

This study aims to investigate the perceptions of tahfiz students towards the bi'ah lughawiyah program at the Bintulu Tahfiz Institute, Malaysia. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with the research subjects of teachers and students at the Bintulu Tahfiz Institute, Malaysia. The data collection methods used are interviews, observations, and documentation. The researcher used the data analysis designed by Miles and Huberman with steps (data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing). This research shows that students have a positive perception and are able to increase learning motivation, enrich the mufradat's treasury, train the courage to speak, and help students understand the meaning of the Qur'an. This study also found negative perceptions regarding challenges in implementing the program, including limited teachers' proficiency in active Arabic, inconsistent implementation, and limited mastery of mufradat. Therefore, systematic planning is needed so that the Arabic language program in the tahfiz environment is carried out sustainably
