Abstract
The existence of the Crime of Human Trafficking Number 104/Pid.Sus/2023/PN Bil with the Defendants 1. Dimas Galih Pratikno bin Eko Sutikno Als. Papi Galih; 2. Rose Nur Afni bint Nur Arfan Als. Mami Putri with the number of victims being 19 (nineteen) women and among them minors, located in the jurisdiction of the Bangil District Court Class 1B. This research was conducted using a juridical-empirical method with a socio-legal approach and data collection techniques through interviews and field observations. The stages of the case resolution process are divided into three parts, namely the process before the trial, consisting of: Report/complaint; Investigations, inquiries and searches; Arrest of suspects; Detention of suspects; Delegation of cases to the Public Prosecutor; Extension of detention of suspects; Transfer of the case by the Public Prosecutor to the Bangil District Court Class 1B; Extension of detention of suspects; Registration of cases, appointment of the Panel of Judges, substitute Registrar and Bailiff at the trial by the Chairman of the Bangil District Court Class 1B; Extension of detention of suspects; and Determination of the first trial day by the Panel of Judges at the Bangil District Court Class 1B. And in the initial trial process, it consists of: First Session, Agenda for summoning the Defendants; Indictment Hearing by the Public Prosecutor; and Hearing for the appointment of Legal Advisor. As well as the Ordinary Examination Process in the trial, consisting of: Evidence Agenda Session (evidence and statements from witnesses); Extension of the detention of the Defendants; Claims Agenda Hearing; Session Agenda defense notes/pledoi; and hearing agenda for the decision. As for the progress of the trial processes taking place at the Bangil District Court Class 1B, it can be stated that the entire trial has complied with and is in accordance with the applicable rules in the Criminal Procedure Code. So the Court is the last resort in punishing perpetrators of criminal acts of human trafficking, in this case the prevention efforts should be taken into account by the local government. Because prevention efforts are very important, especially in providing outreach to the lay public regarding these criminal acts.
