Abstract
Lightning strikes that occur to the surface of the earth can cause damage and danger to humans and equipment in a building, so a lightning strike protection system is needed in buildings. Improving the performance of the lightning channeling system in the BRIN Baron Techno Park Yogyakarta Main Building using the rolling sphere method to determine the placement point of the air terminal, then to get terminal water that is effective in capturing lightning strikes, an electrostatic early streamer emission type terminal water installation is carried out, namely the Flash Vectron channeler and added by installing channeling conductors or finials connected to each other so that they resemble a shape like a cage (Mesh Method or Mesh Size Method). In the previous lightning channeling system in the main building of BRIN Baron Techno Park Yogyakarta only used a conventional catcher terminal water system and directly channeled it to grounding. For the grounding value obtained, namely measurement 1 Measurement 1 = 1.77 Ω, measurement 2 = 7.70 Ω Measurement 3 = 2.52 Ω, and Measurement 4 = 5.03 Ω. For this reason, so that the lightning channeling system can work effectively to capture lightning strikes and get a grounding value in accordance with PUIL standards, Flash Vectron electrostatic terminal water is installed and added with 8 points of installation of channeling conductors or finials, and using a parallel rod grounding system so that the grounding resistance value is obtained with the type of soil type resistance measured is 0.3084 Ω.
