Abstract
This research is a research and development that aims to produce a 3D Diorama learning media for Light Trains to support IPAS learning on light properties in grade V of SDN Sisir 01. The research background is based on the low involvement of students and the limitations of the learning media used by teachers, especially in light phenomena that are abstract and require concrete experience. The characteristics of elementary school students who are in the concrete operational stage require innovative, visual, and interactive learning media so that concepts can be understood optimally and in harmony with the demands of the Independent Curriculum.
This research uses the ADDIE development model which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects include students in grade V of SDN Sisir 01. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and limited trials. The Light Train 3D Diorama Media is designed in the form of a miniature train with several carriages each containing an experiment on the properties of light, namely light propagating straight, penetrating clear objects, reflected, refracted, delineated, and forming shadows.
The results of the study show that the Light Train 3D Diorama media was declared feasible to use based on the validation results of media experts and material experts with the very good category. The use of this media is able to increase students' active involvement, facilitate understanding of the concept of the properties of light, and create more meaningful, interactive, and contextual social studies learning. This media is expected to be an innovative alternative for teachers in developing science learning in elementary schools.
