Abstract

Numeracy literacy is one of the fundamental competencies that needs to be strengthened at the elementary school level, particularly in supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka). This study aims to describe in depth the implementation of the Numeracy Breakfast Program in Grade V at SDN Beji 01 Batu and to analyze its alignment with numeracy ability indicators. This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects included the school principal, the Grade V teacher, and Grade V students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, supported by source and technique triangulation to ensure data validity.
The results indicate that the Numeracy Breakfast Program is implemented routinely before the learning process begins and focuses on strengthening basic mathematical concepts related to daily life contexts. The program contributes to improving students’ abilities to use mathematical numbers and symbols, analyze information presented in tabular form, and interpret analysis results to make decisions. Although some students still experience difficulties with certain topics, particularly fractions, overall the program provides a positive contribution to the development of numeracy skills among Grade V students. Therefore, the Numeracy Breakfast Program can be considered an effective habituation strategy for enhancing numeracy literacy in elementary schools.
