Abstract
This study aims to analyze the production potential, utilization, price structure, marketing channels, and marketing efficiency of corn as poultry feed in Wuluhan District, Jember Regency. Results show that corn productivity at the farmer level in Wuluhan District, Jember Regency ranges from 3.8 to 8.6 tons per hectare, dominated by the use of NK and Pioneer varieties. Local corn production is sufficient to meet the feed requirements of 536,871 poultry and generates a surplus, although supply continuity remains constrained by seasonal harvesting patterns. Corn is used as the main raw material for poultry feed, accounting for 50–60% of total feed due to its high metabolizable energy content. The corn marketing system 2 is dominated by a single marketing channel involving intermediaries, namely farmers–collectors–wholesalers–feed industries, with an average price structure of Rp 6,000/kg at the farmer level, Rp 6,300/kg at the collector level, and Rp 7,125/kg at the wholesaler level. The total marketing margin is Rp 1,125/kg, consisting of a collector margin of Rp 300/kg and a wholesaler margin of Rp 825/kg. The farmer’s share reaches 84.21% and the marketing efficiency value is 8.49%, indicating that corn marketing in Wuluhan District is cost-efficient, However, from a poultry farming perspective, dependence on intermediary institutions still affects the security of supply and flexibility of corn utilization as a feed ingredient, so strengthening integration between corn farmers and poultry farmers is important to support the sustainability of local poultry production systems.
