Abstract
Background : Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) is a health problem that affects the vision system due to excessive use of digital units. The prevalence of CVS in Indonesia in previous research was 66,8%. CVS caused by multifactors, there are individuals factors, computer factors, and emvironmental factors.
Objective : Analyze individual factors that influence the incidence of CVS
among PT.X employees in East Java.
Methods : This research method is analytical observational with a cross-
sectional approach using a questionnaire. The total sample are 67 employees in PT.X at East Java. Then univariate and bivariate analysis was carried out using the IBM SPSS version 26.0 analysis test.
Results : The results of the analysis using lambda test, it was found that
there is an effects between age (p=0.000), use of glasses (p=0.012), type of glasses (p=0.004) and length of time working using a computer (p=0.002) on the incidence of CVS, and there is no effects between gender (p=0.863) on the incidence of CVS.
Conclusion : The research results showed that the majority of employees in PT.X at East Java with 67 employees experiencing mild CVS, 33 respondents (49,3%). Several individual factors that effects on CVS in this research are age, use of glasses, type of glasses, length of time working using a computer.
