Abstract
Aggressive behavior is a behavior of attacking others that can have a negative impact on children in their social environment, so to reduce aggression behavior requires self-control. Play therapy intervention with traditional games of scotch-hop and congklak lidi is one of the media that can increase self-control in children with aggression behavior. The purpose of this study is to see the effect of game play therapy with traditional games in reducing aggression behavior by increasing self-control. The study used an experiment with a pretest posttest control group design. Subjects totaled 12 elementary school students who were divided into two groups, namely six children in the experimental group and six children in the control group. Measurements using The LA Aggression Scale for Elementary School and Upper Secondary School Students and Self-Control scale were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Test, Mann Whitney and Kendall's Tau tests. The results showed that game play therapy with traditional scotch-hop and congklak stick games can improve self-control so that it can reduce aggression behavior in children.
