Abstract
An organization always strives to create harmonious working relationships between leaders and members in order to foster active participation. Poor communication can create obstacles within an organization. One obstacle encountered by the Wahidiyah Foundation in Probolinggo Regency/City, which is active in the field of religion, is a lack of participation by members and administrators. Given this obstacle, leaders must take charge of effective communication to encourage organization members to participate more actively again. With the right communication style used by leaders, members will be more inclined to reconsider being active. Therefore, this study aims to examine how the communication style used by leaders can increase the participation of organization members. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type and a naturalistic research basis. Data collection techniques used interviews and documentation with 9 informants. All data were analyzed using the data analysis concepts of Miles Huberman and tested for validity using source triangulation.
The results of this study show that the communication style of the leaders of the Wahidiyah Foundation in Probolinggo Regency/City is supportive. The communication used is open, transparent, verbal, and formal.
