Abstract
The development of media in the learning process can improve students' understanding of the learning process. Interesting learning requires media that allows students to play a direct role in the use of learning media. However, there are some subjects that do not yet use learning media, such as Indonesian language. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of using Articulate Storyline teaching media oriented towards role-playing in Indonesian language learning to improve the speaking skills of second-grade elementary school students.
This study used ADDIE according to Lee Owen, which is a model that develops a learning prototype using multimedia. The purpose of this study in educational development is to facilitate the mastery of Indonesian through the development of web-based interactive learning software that utilizes clear narration. Based on the results of the study, role-playing-based articulate storyline media is declared suitable for use in Indonesian language learning in polite language material.
Based on expert assessment, the media received a score of 92.8% and subject matter experts received a score of 82.14%. In addition, there were assessments from educator response questionnaires that received a score of 87.5% and student response questionnaires that received a score of 94.04%. Based on the findings of the study, this media was declared valid and suitable for use as an open design. This media proved to attract the interest of students and make it easier for them to learn polite language through the role-playing method. Which means that the media articulates this storyline and is considered very easy to use and effective in supporting learning for second-grade students.
