PERAN PRODUSER DALAM MANAJEMEN PRODUKSI FILM FIKSI "RELAPSE"

Film is one form of mass communication media that effectively conveys social, emotional, and cultural messages through the integration of visual and audio elements. In the filmmaking process, the role of the producer is central, as it significantly determines the overall success of the production. The producer’s responsibilities are not limited to funding or administrative matters, but also include planning, team coordination, supervision of the production process, and quality control from pre-production to post-production. This study aims to examine in depth the role of the producer in the management of the fictional film Relapse, a short film in the psychological drama genre that highlights family themes and inner reflection in the moments leading to death. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach focusing on the entire production process of Relapse. The findings indicate that the producer plays a crucial role in the success of the production, particularly in maintaining a balance between the director’s creative vision and technical limitations in the field. The producer functions as the main controller who ensures that the production process runs on schedule, efficiently, and is able to effectively deliver the film’s message to the audience. Through adaptive and collaborative leadership, the producer is able to realize a work that is not only aesthetically valuable but also emotionally profound. The film Relapse is expected to serve as a medium of reflection for society on the importance of mental health, family harmony, and humanitarian values in life.
