MAKNA TANDA POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD) DALAM VIDEO MUSIK AMYGDALA - AGUST D (Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes)

The research titled “The Meaning of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Signs in the Amygdala Music Video – Agust D (Roland Barthes Semiotic Analysis)” uses Agust D's Amygdala music video, released on April 24, 2023, as the data source. The aim of this study is to analyze the meaning of PTSD signs displayed in the music video using Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach. Music videos are a relevant object of study in semiotics because they present symbols and visual signs that serve to convey specific messages. Agust D’s Amygdala music video addresses traumatic experiences that leave lasting impressions in memory, as well as how such trauma affects psychological conditions. Through Roland Barthes’ semiotic analysis method, this study examines the signs at the stages of denotation, connotation, and the myths constructed through visual symbols in the music video scenes. The research results indicate that there are meanings of PTSD signs in the form of emotional wounds, feelings of being trapped, anxiety, and traumatic memories that are difficult to let go. This study is expected to contribute to the academic field, particularly the study of semiotics in music videos, as well as increase public awareness of the importance of understanding mental health issues, especially psychological trauma such as PTSD.
