KORELASI KETEPATAN ALVARADO SCORE DENGAN KETEPATAN DIAGNOSIS SAAT OPERASI PADA KASUS APENDISITIS TAHUN 2018-2019 DI RUMAH SAKIT UNIVERSITAS MUHAMMADIYAH MALANG

Background :
Appendicitis is an acute inflammation and the most common emergency abdominal surgery, specifically in the right area of the lower abdominal cavity. Late or incorrect diagnosis can result in complications. Considering the limited facilities in Indonesia, which is a developing country, the Alvarado score is an appropriate, easy, fast and non-invasive way to diagnose appendicitis.

Objective :
This study was conducted to determine the correlation between the accuracy of the Alvarado score and the accuracy of diagnosis during surgery in cases of appendicitis in 2018-2019 at Muhammadiyah University Hospital, Malang.

Methods :
This research uses an analytical observational research method with a cross sectional approach and uses medical record data as secondary data

Results :
Based on the results of SPSS analysis, it was found that there was a correlation between the accuracy of the Alvarado score and the accuracy of diagnosis during surgery in cases of appendicitis in 2018-2019 at the Muhammadiyah University Hospital, Malang with a p-value from the chi square test of 0.015 (p<0.05) but the expected count was >20%. So the Fisher's test is continued, with a Fisher's Exact sig value of 0.012 (<0.05)

Conclusion :
There is a correlation between the accuracy of the Alvarado Score and the accuracy of diagnosis during surgery in cases of appendicitis in 2018-2019 at UMM Hospital
