Abstract
Background: Low Back Pain (LBP) is a highly prevalent musculoskeletal disorder,
with approximately 80% of the Indonesian population experiencing this condition
at some point in their lives. LBP is commonly observed among manual laborers due
to repetitive movements such as lifting, twisting, and bending. Several factors,
including gender, work tenure, and work duration, are believed to contribute to the
increased risk of LBP. Workers with more than five years of experience and those
working for prolonged hours (>5 hours per day) are at a greater risk of developing
LBP.
Objective: To identify the risk factors associated with Low Back Pain.
Methods: This study employed an observational cross-sectional design with a
saturated sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using the Numeric
Rating Scale (NRS) questionnaire and a Low Back Pain questionnaire. The study
was carried out in Tirem Village, Duduk Sampeyan, Gresik, in February 2025.
Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA with IBM SPSS Statistics
software.
Results: The statistical analysis revealed a significant relationship (p < 0.001)
between the three independent variables gender, work tenure, and work duration
and the dependent variable, the risk of developing Low Back Pain.
Conclusion: Gender, work tenure, and work duration significantly influence the
risk of Low Back Pain among aquaculture workers in Tirem Village, Gresik City.
