Abstract
Background:Implementation of hand hygiene can reduce the increase in the incidence of Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs), which are also referred to as "Nosocomial" or "Hospital" infections. The patient's family is one of the intermediary agents for patients, to reduce nosocomial incidents, hand compliance is required hygiene.
Method:This research is descriptive, that is, a research method was carried out with the aim of this study to find out the description of patient compliance in the implementation of 6 steps of hand washing in the installation of Pattimura Hospital in Kanjuruhan Hospital, Malang.
Results:This research shows that the patient's family hand hygiene compliance rate is 94.5% according to the procedure and 5.5% is not according to the procedure. The results of this hand hygiene compliance study found that male and female sexes were obedient, 5.5% who could not do hand hygiene with the 6 rare procedure correctly due to the patient's age. The research subjects are expected to improve hand hygiene compliance.
