Abstract

The furniture industry in Indonesia continues to grow and contributes significantly to the national economy. However, increasing demand poses challenges in maintaining product quality, particularly defects such as cracks, misalignment, inaccurate dimensions, and uneven finishing. This study aims to identify the main defects, calculate the Defect Per Million Opportunities (DPMO) and Sigma Level, and propose improvements using the Six Sigma method with the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach in the wardrobe production process at UD. Tri Putra Mebel. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and company records. The results show that the dominant defects are uneven finishing (40%) and cracks (30%) with an average Sigma Level of 2.3, indicating low process efficiency. The main causes include human, machine, method, material, and environmental factors. Improvement proposals focus on worker training, SOP implementation, routine machine maintenance, and stricter material selection. The application of Six Sigma effectively reduces defect levels and improves production efficiency
