Abstract

This study compared the user experience (UX) of the Gojek and Grab apps in Malang City using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ). User assessment focused on the most frequently used features: GoFood, GoRide, GoCar, GoSend, and GoMart on the Gojek app, and GrabFood, GrabBike, GrabCar, GrabMart, and GrabExpress on the Grab app. The study sample consisted of 108 students aged 18–25 selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and two-sample t-tests to identify six UX dimensions: attractiveness, perspicacity, efficiency, dependability, stimulation, and novelty. The results showed that all dimensions fell into the "Neutral" category, with scores ranging from -0.8 to 0.8. Gojek excels in the stimulation (0.343) and efficiency (0.014) dimensions, while Grab excels in the novelty (0.218) and attractiveness (0.022) dimensions. A t-test showed no significant difference (p > 0.05) between the two apps across all UX dimensions. Both apps demonstrate a similar level of UX maturity, but still need to improve innovation and novelty to meet global market standards.
